Florida Highway Patrol recently reported to an accident that involved 28-year old woman and her two children, ages 8 and 12. They were traveling east on Highway 164 in their Pontiac. When she reached the intersection of Highway 164 and Highway 29, she apparently lost control of her car and could not stop – causing her to go directly in the path of a semi tractor-trailer. The 18-wheeler was driven by 56-year old man of Atlanta.

The rescue and emergency teams got the passengers out of the vehicle and took them to a local hospital. The woman suffered minor injuries; it is unknown if the children suffered any injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
The woman reported that her brakes failed. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and no charges or citations were issued.
